As a chinese family we have rice most days of the week and this rice cooker has performed well for nearly 1 year. This model is made in Japan and Tiger has been a trusted brand for many years. Nice feature is the retractable cord. Easy to clean non-stick surface. Getting perfect rice each time couldn't be any easier. Highly recommended.

I purchased this model less than a month ago. I used it three times and the switch button melted. Since it's still under warranty,
I sent it to Tiger Corp. for repair. (I paid for the shipping cost to Tiger :( ). Tiger sent back the rice cooker with a note stating that they had replaced the heater, center thermo, switch unit, temperature fuse and temperature reading system. I used it once after I got it back and the switch button melted again and the there's no power. I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend this messed up unit. BEWARE!!! TIGER JNPS18U RICE COOKER 10 CUP

We bought one Thailand rice cooker. The cover was not seal and rice doesnt cook well. Then we returned it to Amazon and bought this one. Then when we cook, it bubbles and make a great mess on the cover and on the cabinet surface. I have to clean it up after everytime i cook, which didn't happen to our Tiger rice cooker that we bought 10 years ago. This rice cooker is made in Japan but quality is very poor compare to the one we have before.
